Taronga Zoo

Hee hee, I'm glad I decided to get up and go to the zoo with Lui yesterday. I didn't think I'd actually do it, what with being worried about me parents finding out and all. They don't agree with me being with him. God, and I don't know what to do about it. I feel helpless and resentful, and sort of resigned in a way. This is not the first time they've complained about who I was going out with. GOD. It just pisses me off. And now my brother's gone and married, and they're all happy with that aren't they. Why can't anything work out for me?

God, I wish they would keep the door closed, the stench of oyster shells is wafting in like agent orange. Anyway, where was I. I was meant to tell you people about our trip to the zoo, that's what. Yeah well, it was good. We saw these cute rat-like animals, ones that could run up walls and that, and a silvery gibbon, which swung in front of us for some juicy leaves, some puffy birds and fat seals. I love anything that's rounded and squeezable. I was tempted to grab a couple of free roaming birds and smuggle them out. And maybe keep 'em or cook 'em. Haven't really decided.

I hadn't been there in 20 years, and it was drizzling a bit when we got there. So I bought this umbrella, which I have to get back from Lui, and we used that for the day. Thanks to me, he got most of his research done. Still, I recommend eating a hearty meal beforehand so you don't feel tempted to eat the animals or pay like $10 for a small chinese takeaway box of noodles. Still, it looked good though.

Speaking of food, the other night, right, I was invited to this blasé bar called the Clock Hotel, to celebrate our R&D team's success for the last financial year. Now I'm part of their team, it's like being part of the Stonecutters. It was flashy sort of place, warm and stylish at the same time. Hee hee, and I had stuff I would've never had if I was on my own. And it was all paid for by the company too. Eee hee hee hee. So yeah, I stuffed my face for free, and I didn't feel bad at all.

Here's what I had (verbatim from the menu):

Entree: Salad of endive, watercress, grilled pear, Gippsland blue and walnuts 14.00
Main: Duck confit on a carrot puree with cavalo nero and mustard fruits 28.00

Shared Sides:

Mixed leaf salad with balsamic vinaigrette 6.00
Steamed broccoli with chive butter 6.50
Roast garlic mash potato 7.00

Dessert: Banana tarte tatin with coconut ice cream 9.00

Drinks: Coke, white wine, Orange Pekoe tea.

I was full by the end of it, I think I had indigestion. And not only that, I got a ride back to the station, and me dad picked me up. Can't wait to do it again. Eee hee hee hee.

Product Review: Sanctum Hand & Body Soothe

How do I manage to wait about a month without even realising it before I post another measly post? Huh, it's all in the timing baby. Well, let me tell you something. I'm going to start reviewing skincare products and the like, purely cos I feel like it. And also because I like putting in my two cents worth about anything. I mean, I find myself using so many different kinds of face creams and such, god, I just have to start a catalogue. So here goes.

Sanctum Hand & Body Soothe from Sanctum Skincare:

What is it: It's a light textured, fully absorbing whitish lotion for the body, that has natural ingredients like aloe vera, jojoba, macadamia and oak bark extracts.

Is it safe? Huh, it'd better be, with no animal testing, or artificials. I meant that in a good way.

Expensive? I'd say it's moderate. And worth it too.

What's so good about it: The ionically balanced water, straight from the rainforests of Byron Bay eh. The natural ingredients, and the smooth packaging. Also, the fact it absorbs quickly. You could use it on your face it's so natural.

What's kind of crap about it: You'd have to try getting it at specialty beauty clinics and that.

Would I use it again: Yeah, if I can get my hands on it. They've got it at Rydges too, but then it's not really worth staying at a hotel to stock up on it is it?
