And a lovely time was had by all
Haven't been this relaxed for ages. For one thing, a friend from highschool who I haven't seen in 8 years decided to take me out to a fairly secluded beach for Australia Day. It wasn't something I'd usually do, not least with someone I didn't really know, but the thought of the beach that day was quite tempting. And it gave me a chance to wear my bikini, and even get a bit of a tan.
So we swam in the sea bay, and we both swallowed our fair share of salty sea water. It always surprises me how salty it is, like the proverbial 10 teaspoons of sugar in a can of coke. But it felt so refreshing, especially when the sun cooled down a bit in the afternoon, and we sat on the rock wall watching the waves. We actually caught glimpses of these amazing turquoise/aqua coloured fish, about 5 of them, just shooting past, right in front of our eyes. It was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment. Even now I don't know what they were, but they were this blue. I felt so privileged to be able to see that in the natural environment, and not just in an aquarium.
And that wasn't all. I was also invited out to this Indonesian restaurant. I had my doubts, thinking that it might not be to my taste, but I was wrong. It was pretty good I have to admit. And it was cheap too, considering we shared about 10 different dishes, and had dessert, all for about 20 bucks a person. I mean, it's just unheard of.
The next day I was so out of it I slept away most of the day.
