Jealous? You're jealous

When was the last time we got together Zoe... last year? Geez...

What kind of best friend am I? Meh. Let's not get into that. The point is, we had a good time when we did finally see each other.

It all started with Dymocks. Thinking there was nothing there... I walk out of the place about to complain about what lack of quality books they had, and how standards have certainly dropped... when I pass by this book called...god, what's it called? Moonlight? Fairlight? Anyway, it had the nicest cover. And we all know how much I like to judge books by their covers. Well this one happened to have an interesting plot, so that was a bonus.

Zoe shouted me lunch, and she gave me the Devil Wears Prada on dvd... remember that post I made about wanting to watch this movie? That's how long it's been, and she was kind enough to have held onto it all this time... without even watching it. That's dedication. Or maybe it wasn't to her liking. Whatever.

First stop was Japan City, how convenient. Bought myself a set of these really nice floral chopsticks. Yes I realise they were an impulse buy, but won't you let me live?

Managed to avoid the hoarde of screaming teenage girls in the centre court, bloody Australian Idol. Zoe made this funny comment about how in two years time nobody would remember these nobodies. Ah, you gotta love the realities of reality tv.

We stopped by this bags place where she bought me a purse I've been wanting, my current purse is so thick it's tearing at the seams. And it's not necessarily bursting with money either. Just a bunch of crap I might need. Oh, not to mention a couple of special things. There there. You're going to a better place now.

I gave my two cents worth at Jay Jays when we were looking for clothes. I could do that as a day time job: giving honest feedback. I even managed to get a cardigan for $20. You try doing that.

We then ate at Max Brenner... a place that's always god damn filled with people. Still managed to get a good seat though... cos we needed to open our flies and lounge around a bit after stuffing ourselves with melted chocolate, hot chocolate and strawberries and chocolate and marshmallow and banana pizza. What?

We finally finished the day... and I managed to catch a ride home in my brother's VW. Jealous? You're jealous.

Well I suppose you're all expecting a post

Those of you who are privileged enough to know me would probably be reading this now, thinking, "well it's about bloody time she posted something. And this better be good, what with her birthday being today. So she'd better write something damn entertaining, or else there'll be hell to pay." It's alright people, I don't get enough pressure...

I've just bought myself a bunch of technology. I don't know why, I just thought I needed it at the time. It all started with getting my first digital camera for free off the company. "Care to explain?" I hear you ask. Well, when you're in charge of office supplies... there are certain bonuses you get... for ordering a certain amount of supplies... and that's how I landed myself a nice little camera. Clever little rort wasn't it?

Never mind the legality. Geez, we're not interested in that. Next on the agenda... my recent purchases. Yes. I do actually buy things legally. With my own money.

Call it karma, but I recently bought a few things off our IT reseller. First thing was a tv tuner. Now, I managed to install the software for it... but in a cruel twist of fate, it wouldn't pick up any god damn channels. I mean, come on people. We're not in woop woop here. Where's the bloody reception? Anyway, I'll have to sort that one out later, maybe I'll sell it to my brother. Heh heh, shhh... it's our little secret.

So I'm thinking, ok, FINE. Surely the next thing will work. It was a Toshiba U3 usb key. A neat little package. Seemed a little complex for a usb key, (it even showed you how to attach the cap to the cord so you wouldn't lose it, isn't that nice?) but hey, I set it up at work, and it was talking itself up with stuff about how you can work off the drive as if it was your computer. Yes, well. ANYWAY. So I took it home, and what do you know. It fucking freezes my computer so I have to reboot the fucking thing. I couldn't even do a Ctrl-Alt-Del on it first. For fuck's sake. Why cruel fate? Why?

So anyway. I consider that repayment for my little rort with the camera. There's one more thing I've yet to try. My nice little Logitech 4 port hub. Premium it says. Well it fucking better work. Cos I'm not getting fucked 3 times in a row. Uh, let me rephrase that. I'm not getting rorted 3 times in a row.

On a brighter note, last month I went to the Korean Chuseok Festival in Darling Harbour. The highlight was this silent performance group called Nanta that gave us an amusing show, using knives and chopping boards as percussion instruments, and I got my name done in a calligraphic style by this old guy. It's a lost art, calligraphy. Who's going to continue doing what he does after he's gone I ask ye? No one with any talent that's for god damn sure.

That is all.
