What's cool, what's fool

Inspired by Two Thousand's list of what's cool, what's fool, here's my extended version, hand-picked for your relishing.
Things I've been looking forward to:
The new MyZone scheme, which sounds like a good idea from the NSW Government, if only because, AMAZINGLY, I'm actually SAVING on my weekly bus and train tickets, for once. This is filed under the category of Why Didn't They Fucking Think Of This Before? (Despite the fact there'll apparently be some people who will actually pay a bit more, but meh, what can you do? It's for the greater good). And can I just say that I'm fucking glad the government has removed IPART's responsibility (albeit temporarily) for regulating the ticket prices. Every freaking year they'd put up the prices for bus and train fares, while we get the same shitty service. At least now we're paying for the same shitty service, but at cheaper rates. Well most of us anyway. Heh heh. IN YOUR FACE IPART!
The possibility that the Dark Tower series will be made into a movie, but better yet, a series like Lost. NOT that you could compare it to Lost, I mean. I've even started a cast list, and as we can ALL agree, Viggo Mortensen will play Roland.
The possibility that Heart-Shaped Box will be made into a movie. I say possibility because it's been 3 years since it was first reported, and it's got a release date of 2011 (apparently it's in development), but I just hope it won't be a straight-to-dvd thing. Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King (Vay: "The SON of Stephen King? Why can't you just say Stephen King's son? What's wrong with you? DUH, I mean, who says that?") practically wrote it for adaptation. The plot and the characters are so clear cut, it reads like a script. Hmm. I think I'm starting to have a thing for wanting books to be made into movies.
My Avatar dvd order that will come shipped with a free book (The Activist Survival Guide). To be honest, I only wanted the book but it seemed like such a good deal at the time.
The next Sookie Stackhouse novel, Dead in the Family. And let me assure you, it goes far and beyond the Twilight series. I mean, it just doesn't compare. I wouldn't mind getting the True Blood series on dvd either. Maybe someone will get it for me?
Marge: Oh, Homey, look at that watch. I've always wanted a watch like that. The next Professor Layton game in the series (PL and the Last Time Travel/Final Time Journey, I think). Which in my humble opinion, can't come sooner. Apparently it was released back in November 2008 for god's sake in Japan, and god fucking knows when we in AUSTRALIA will get it. IF AT ALL. How can they leave us hanging with the story line? Besides, I've got a thing for Professor Layton. I'd do him if I were animated. That's right hun, I would. Anyway, apparently they've also already made an anime film called Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, and ONCE AGAIN WE'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF with the late release dates for the Western audience.
Homer: [sly] Well, maybe someone will give you one for Christmas.
Marge: Mmm.
Homer: [thinking] Now she'll really be surprised when she opens that ironing board cover!
My first cocktail party. A colleague of Vay's is having her 30th birthday in the city somewhere. (It's that time of the decade, I suppose. Which reminds me I have no idea what I may or may not be doing for my own birthday this year, but by my own standards, it had better be good). I'm looking forward to wearing my new dress (it's a cream satin, knee-length, spaghetti strap dress with intricate gold lace overlay - which I got for only 60 bucks, bargain!) and I can't wait to lounge around, sipping drinks and eating canapes, and telling everyone that I'm Rick James, bitch.
Things I'm not that excited about:
The Eclipse movie. Seriously, I've forgotten the story and it feels like it's been 2 years since I've finished the books. I'll have to seriously think about watching it at the cinemas actually, just based on the patheticness of the last two movies. I mean, really, it's been downhill from the first movie, and I'm just watching the sequels to be FINISHED AND DONE with the whole thing.
My first lesson in riding a bicycle. Yes, folks. I don't know how to ride a bike. (Vay: "Yeah, she doesn't know how to ride, can you believe that?") It all started 20 years ago, when I was being taught half-arsedly by my brother, and I was paralysed by my own fear of falling over and grazing a knee or two. And EVER SINCE THEN, I never touched a bike. Oh I've wished that I could, while other kids rode like the wind down the street, while I watched them from the living room windows, peering at them behind closed curtains. Creepy, I know. And now? Now I'm being forced to learn by my own boyfriend. NOT that he'll let me take a ride on his shiny new bike, no. God no.
Professor Frink: N'hey hey! Ahem, n'hey, so the compression and expansion of the longitudinal waves cause the erratic oscillation - you can see it there - of the neighbouring particles.
[a girl raises her hand]
Frink:[sighs] Yes, what is it? What? What is it?
Girl: Can I play with it?
Frink: No, you can't play with it; you won't enjoy it on as many levels as I do. [he chuckles as he plays with it] The colours, children!
I might add to these lists later, if and when I feel like it, but for now, I’m leaving it as it is cos Blogger’s pissing me off with their limited formatting options. It took me ages to make it look this good, and even then it looks crap. I originally had bullet points you know, but then it was fucking up so much I stopped caring and left them out. It seriously needs a format painter button, BLOGGER. God, get it right.
