Short term memories

Alright, so it's been a while. Maybe even a long while. The point is, I've just been feeling a bit detached lately. Maybe even a little demotivated. I don't know. Now I'm just rambling. Pointless, really. I feel like I've run out of steam or something. Maybe I just feel like I just need to do a memory dump, cos all these things I've wanted to blog about have been backed up in the recesses of my short term memory. And Vay's been feeling just as restless too, and it's showing, with his smoking and threatening to quit his job ("I swear to god, I'm just going to go AWOL one of these days, hun, cos that's the kind of guy I am" so he whines, and I've yet to see it happen), and wanting to do mini City to Surfs from the station all the way home, in the winter dark. I mean, for god's sake, GET A GRIP, man. Anyway, I'm tired of thinking about him all the time. This post shall henceforth be about me and what I've been up to the past few weeks. Though no doubt he'll pop up somewhere below though. Ugh. So without further ado, here are some of the highlights:

Cycling Adventures: A couple of months ago, I tested my newly adjusted handbrakes out with a trip around Olympic Park, and I can assure you my wrists felt much better. I went with Vay and Yara, and we spiralled up a path on this hill, and took in the sights. That, and worrying about whether our bikes would be pinched from the bike stands as we ate our lunch at the Armory Cafe. Oh yeah, and let's not forget about crashing into the side of a ditch and grazing my shins and then yelling at Vay for telling me to switch gears as I was speeding along trying to keep up with Yara. Ah, memories.

Movie Marathons: I've been to a fair few movies over the last half a year or so, with various willing and not-so-willing chaperones. Not that they had any choice. God, no. Some of the more notable movies I've seen were Shutter Island, Kick Ass (surprisingly good), Toy Story 3 and Inception, the last of which I can't wait to get on dvd, and it better come with one of those spinning tops!

But now the movies for which I was dragged kicking and screaming to see: Predators (not once, but twice, and he still owes me for a movie that only I want to see as compensation, damn it), The Wolfman (let's face it, it was pretty lame), and just last night, LAST NIGHT, mind you, I was subjected to the barrage of mindless explosions and non-descript acting that was The Expendables. The only highlight of THAT film was the cameo from Arnold Schwarzenegger. There, I've saved you the trouble of seeing it. It's alright, you can thank me later.

Shopping Expeditions: "Just go home, hun, don't want you walking the streets with some bozo". This was Vay (yet again), after I was being rather vague and shifty about what I going to do after work while he was off drinking with his "colleagues". Huh, well he's not the only who can have fun out on the town. I didn't go boozing as you'd all expect me to, alas, but I have had the pleasure of spending my lunch hour and sometimes after hours going to various warehouse sales around the inner city. Hee hee! If only I'd known about these warehouses before. God, what a waste of all those years buying retail. Some of my best buys:

Cooper St Clothing: peach satin dress: $30
Mavi Jeans: short denim skirt $20, short shorts $20
Cohen Et Sabine: winter navy cotton dress with silk trimmings: $40
Nookie: Crop black bolero $20, black button down skirt with button pocket detail $20
Anna & Boy: Black silk velvet skirt $45
Senso Diffusion: “Lauren” black suede studded strap ankle boots $60

... you guessed it... to be continued.
